Grants for University Teacher Training (FPU)

The Ministry of Universities announces FPU doctoral scholarships.

Interested students (at national and international level) with academic records (bachelor and/or master) with marks greater or equal of ~80% are in principle eligible.

Awarding of grants for pre-doctoral contracts for the completion of doctoral theses in Spanish universities
These grants are intended for research training in doctoral programmes in order to obtain a doctoral degree and the acquisition of university teaching skills in any area of scientific knowledge, which will facilitate the future incorporation of these people into the Spanish higher education and scientific research system.

Deadline for submission of applications:

17 January 2023 until 15 February 2023.

These grants are for the formalisation of pre-doctoral contracts in the centres of assignment, which have a duration of four years, except if it is a person with a disability in which case the grant may have a duration of six years, in accordance with the provisions of Article 21 c) of Law 14/2011, of 1 June, on Science, Technology and Innovation.
Those who have obtained a doctoral degree, prior to the start of the last year of the FPU grant, may access a period of postdoctoral orientation (POP) for a maximum of one year.
Likewise, funding will be provided for the granting of aid to carry out a stay in foreign centres, and exceptionally in Spain, which is significant and beneficial for the fulfilment of the training objective of the FPU grant, and which contributes to the improvement or specialisation of the pre-doctoral training both in the pre-doctoral phase and, where appropriate, in the post-doctoral phase.

Incompatibilities:

• Persons who, at the time of applying for the grant, have received a previous grant for a period of more than 24 months will not be eligible for the grants.
• Persons who are beneficiaries of FPU grants from previous calls are not eligible to apply for this call.
