We will continue with our Seminar Series on Wed, 11 May 2022.
On site: Auditórium – Salón de Grados Leganés
Thomas Ott is Head of AOCS/GNC & Flight Dynamics in Airbus Denfence and Space @ Lake Constance in Germany. In Airbus he is also Senior Specialist in Attitude Pointing and System Performance for spacecraft. Before his career brought him to Airbus Defence and Space in 2013, he was at the Swedish Space Corporation, the European Space Agency and the University of Stuttgart. During his career he has worked as GNC Engineer on various missions like MetOp-SG, ATHENA, Euclid and agile spacecraft with high precision pointing requirements. Precision pointing control design and system performance analysis is his primary field of interest in research and development.
“Spacecraft System Performance: Modelling, Metrics, Analysis and Design”
The key to model spacecraft system performance is the identification of the performance chain from error sources to the final measurement product, e.g. infrared image. The enablers for analysing accurately the performance chain are the metrics capturing precisely the mission performance requirements. Given the performance chain and metrics an approach is defined that is well balanced between level of detail and responsiveness to allow fast but sufficiently accurate system analysis as well as design for attitude control.
This talk will focus on the performance chain and a set of metrics capturing precisely mission performance requirements. Based on it links are drawn to analysis and design techniques, and corresponding tooling.
The seminars will begin at 14 CEST and will take place in the Auditorium Salon de Grados (Padre Soler) campus of Leganés.
No previous registration is required.
